How many times do we recite Surah Fatihah each day? As the opening to the Quran, this surah holds many virtues that are many times unappreciated. Ustadh Nihal Khan takes us deep into the surah and its themes, meanings, and virtues.

Muslims the world over have traditionally joined in gatherings of praise and love of Allah ﷻ and His Prophet ﷺ in the noble month of his birth and all year round, recalling his merits in a show of gratitude for his Divine bestowal upon them.

We are pleased to host Dr. Shadee Elmasry who will share some thought provoking wisdom. In addition the evening will include a recitation of Quran, qasidas, and naats by our esteemed munshids including Sidi Uthman Ames.

We often find ourselves in trying and precarious situations when dealing with trials and tribulations. But there is no better way to to understand our difficulties than in light of the life of the Prophet (Peace be upon him). Every month, Nihal Khan takes us into his life to learn how he dealt with trials and tribulations throughout his life. Learn more about Nihal Khan here.

Sufism (Tasawwuf), the path of spiritual purification, is the essence of Islam. Ironically, misunderstandings regarding it remain prevalent. This class will explore Sufism and the traits of its true people.  Any claims that contradict these qualities have no authentic connection with Sufism. The text for this class is authored by Al-Habib Umar bin Hafiz and translated by Ustadh Amjad Tarsin. Ustadh Amjad will be teaching this class.

A weekly halaqa focusing on knowledge, belief, prophetic practice, and spirituality. This halaqa aims to create an opportunity to build, strengthen, and adapt our understanding of essential elements of the Deen in a way to make it more practical, impactful, and enriching in our daily lives. It was led by Br. Saleh Clemons and met on the first 3 Saturdays of the month.

We examined a selection of chapters from the famous and valuable text by the scholar, Imam Abdullah Bin ‘Alawi Al-Haddad, who is one of the most notable figures of the thousand year tradition of scholars from Hadramawt, Yemen. In particular, we studied the chapters on Repentance, Hope & Fear, Prayer in Congregation, and Acquiring Sacred Knowledge as an approach and response to our collective experiences from COVID-19 and the wave of protests across the country. This course will imbue a program of thought through the sagacity of Imam Al-Haddad to carry us forward, inshaAllah.

Lessons From The Lives of The Prophets is a lecture series hosted on Zoom meetings for children in middle school. Being Muslim is a program, hosted on Zoom, that will combine learning environments to create a thought-stimulating week for attendees. The program will include a tafsir class that will go through select passages of the Quran. In addition, halaqaat will focus on faith based questions that young men and women may have as they go through early adulthood. Alternating between the tafsir classes and the halaqaat, the program will aim to strengthen their foundations in Islam. This program will be best suited for high schoolers and up. This program will be led by Mufti Anas Shaikh.
