Shaykh Yasir Fahmy

Bachelors Degree in Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University. ‘ijazas (independent certifications) in the subjects of fiqh, hadith, aqida, usul al-fiqh, sirah, tazkiyyah, mantiq, Arabic grammar (nahu), morphology (sarf) and rhetoric (balagha). First American Azhari to ever teach in the renowned Al-Azhar Mosque. Sh Yasir serves as an Advisor on Yaqeen's Editorial Review Board.

Ustadh Kaiser Aslam

Ustadh Kaiser Aslam has been serving as the Rutgers chaplain since in August 2016. He previously served as the Muslim Chaplain at Wesleyan University. Kaiser has studied various classical Islamic sciences including Arabic, tafseer, hadith, fiqh in his studies within the United States, as well abroad at Markaz Fajr in Cairo, Egypt and Al Amana Center in Oman. Kaiser holds a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies and Muslim-Christian Relations from Hartford Seminary. In addition to his work at Wesleyan, Kaiser served as the only Muslim Chaplain at Hartford Hospital and as the youth director at the Farmington Valley American Muslim Center.


Ustadha Kiashe Pugh

Ustadha Kiashe Pugh converted to Islam as a freshman in college, while attending Rutgers University, where she double majored in Psychology and Biology. After graduating she taught for a year and then went to the Middle East for nearly two decades with her family. She studied Tajweed, learned an appreciation for loving Allah’s Messenger, and took care of her family. Anse Kiashe continues to seek Islamic knowledge and she enjoys reading, traveling, and cooking for family and friends. Ustadha Kiashe is also a teacher at Ribaat, a four-level online program.
